About This Item
Galeria Autorska Jana Kaji i Jacka SoliÅskiego was established in Bydgoszcz, Poland on June 16, 1979. It was one of the first private galleries in Poland. The gallery was founded by painter Jan Kaja and graphic artist Jacek SoliÅski, both originally from Bydgoszcz. Together the two also issued a number of fine art monographs, aside from their own artistic output and various exhibitions held at the gallery. Kaja and SoliÅski described the gallery as "extra-institutional, independent, open, constantly searching and evolving." They showed works across various genres and fields including fine art, photography, conceptual art, poetry, literature, theater, and philosophy. Over the years, the gallery has put on over 800 exhibitions, installations, performances, concerts, and other events, with over 250 publications from the internal publishing house.
Included here are two small booklets put out by Galeria Autorska in 1980. Numbered 37 and 23, respectively, they are by the Polish artist Leszek Przyjemski.
