About This Item

Octavo 15x11.5 cm., wrappers,16pp. This is the first published work by Ayn Rand (nee Alisa Rosenbaum, 1905-1982) and is extremely scarce. Ayn Rand wrote two works on the cinema under her given name before emigrating and embarking on her now well-known career as a novelist and philosopher in the United States. The present work is a short monograph on the film actress Pola Negri (1891-1987, screen name for Barbara Apolonoia Chalupec), famed for her roles as seductress and femme fatale. No institutional holdings found by OCLC for this work worldwide. Very good copy, cover worn.
