Hopewell, NJ: The Ecco Press, 1988. Paperback. Small 4to. Stiff glossy pictorial wrappers. 193pp. Near fine. Tight and nice first softbound edition of these essays and poetry by the noted poet/critic/essayist (born 1940) -- with his huge signature in black fineline on half-title page, which he dates "5-1-91." Inside front wrapper bears ownership signature of Bill Pauly (1942-2021), a poet especially known for haikus and long-time English professor at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
