These four volumes are bound in 3/4 leather (spines and cover corners) with marbled covers and endsheets. Volume One: 1850 - 1854, Volume Two: 1854 - 1860, Volume Three: 1860 - 1862, Volume Four: 1862 - 1864. All four volumes are in Very Good Condition. Volume Four contains a pocket inside the back cover containing six maps. Due to the size of this item, expedited or priority shipping prices will be individually quoted. Previous owner name neatly written on blank free endpapers and a name clipped from the top of the title pages, otherwise very good, bright and clean copies throughout. Early full tan calf bindings with raised bands to the spines. Compartments double gilt ruled. Red title labels, gilt. Some minor wear to the extremities but overall very good and attractive bindings. ---- Complete as published, these first two volumes of Stern's Sermons of Mr. Yorrick, published anonymously in 1760, were added to at a later date with another five volumes issued between 1766 and 1769.

Two Volumes octavo 19th century half calf with 5 faux raised bands gilt and tan title labels (tips slightly rubbed) xxxiv +412pp (ii)+432pp +[208]pp of index for both volumes. Titlepage of first volume is damp marked and the following three leaves of dedication and the last 8 leaves marginally so. The last two leaves also slightly browned but all paper supple and strong. There is sporadic & pale marking with volume 2 having a marginal ink spot to pp311 sl.offset to 310 and marginal damp to approx 10 leaves + the index.
