With illustrated frontispiece. Text block edges are decoratively speckled. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Bookbinder's sticker to front pastedown. A few dog-eared corners. Occasional minor marginalia and underlining. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Spine is noticeably sunned. Gilt is bright.

Faint creases to some pages. A few dog-eared corners. Boards have heavy edge wear, with bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are worn and rubbed. Leather sections scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Spine particularly rubbed. Gilt is bright. A few dents to rear board. Slightly scratched overall.

More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Binding is slightly loose but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
