GLASGOW: DAVID ROBERTSON, 1853 Rare First Edition1853 H/b Blind Blocked decorated original cloth boards with gilt titles to spine. 190 x 120mm approx. Yellow end papers.xxiv + 108pp. With biographical sketch of the author by Hugh Macdonald (not credited). Collection of Scottish poems by the son of a weaver; a trade also taken up by the author who was born in Chryston Lanarkshire in March 1780. His work was held in high regard in his day and he wa held in high esteem in the community particularly in Auchinairn where he spent his later years. VG (Book- shelf soiling, rubbing wear and fade to cloth but no significant fraying/spliting of cloth. End papers replaced with similar colour [front end paper had been removed]. No other restoration work carried out. Binding sound with no previous owner name or insc). A book now difficult to source in it's original imprint. At the time of listing the only other copies we could find on line were in Public and National libraries -vis. Nat Lib. of Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Oxford.
