Includes a handful of black & white engraved illustrations scattered through the text. Book wrapped in jacket with Valenti Angelo illustration of a snowy New England scene to front panel. --- In Toledano spine 8 / blue cloth / gilt titling on red spine & cover blocks / red topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style h, verso lists 362 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1952 (no publication date appears in book). ML #56.2. --- A sound copy: tightly-bound, unmarked and bright though with prior owner's bookplate affixed to front paste-down. Synopsis
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 – 1882) was an American poet whose works include Paul Revere's Ride , The Song of Hiawatha , and Evangeline. Most of his works were lyrical poems which often utilized mythology and legend.
