About This Item

Galveston, TX: The Cleaner's Press, circa 1950. First edition. The poet's second book (twenty years after a scarce Italian publication) with a preface by Dallam Flynn. This is one of the copies (presumably a large portion of the edition) rebound in gray paper by Kasper & Horton with their name on the spine. The rear cover has a cancel, changing the Kasper and Horton address in New York to "Square Dollar Series", D. C. , thus in effect the third issue. 1000 copies in total were originally printed, those unsold were bought by K&H. Given that his next volume was not published for 15 years, and he was missing from most anthologies (Oscar William's in 1968 for instance) it is not surprising that it is uncommon book. This copy with a very good interior, the covers chipped and stained with some staining continuing to the preliminary pages. About as inexpensive a copy in reasonable condition as you are likely to find of this fine collection by one of the centuries (now) acknowledged masters.
