About This Item
Paris: Societe D' Edition Artistique (1900). Very Good. 1900. Hardcover. viii, 268 pages; 8vo; pebbled blue half-leather and marbled blue paper over boards; spine lettered in gilt; marbled endpapers; original printed yellow wrappers bount in. Laid in, is an elaborate manuscript chart laying out from left to right various genres, authors and works of poetry from 842 to 1515 - Chansons de Geste, Romances de la Table Round, Adam de la Halle, Deschamps, Villon, etc. Book shows moderate rubbing and wear to corners and edges, with a dent at the rear foredge; text pages tanned at extremities. From the library of the late Ian Jackson, who would probably know exactly who executed the chart. .
