About This Item
Wellington, NZ: A. H. & A. W. Reed, 1970. Hardback small quarto, dustjacket, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), colour & black & white drawings, faint foxing edges & boards, faint foxing reverse side jacket (minor edgewear, bottom flap corners little trimmed, small edge tears). 32 pp. A delightful nonfiction children's picture book by Molly Falla.. She shares, in 25 full-colour paintings and drawings, the pleasure and wonder of the temporary bird members of her family. Molly's own early love of nature was nurtured after her marriage to distinguished ornithologist, Dr R. A. Falla, formerly the director of New Zealand's Dominion Museum. With their children, the Fallas rescued and cared for many kinds of birds - the most unusual being penguins.
