Pnin by Nabokov, Vladimir - 1969

The cover has a couple strips of strapping tape, but it doesn't look as though the cover needed them and they did no good whatsoever for the first few pages, which have come loose. Nothing lost, some held in place with a staple. The rest of the pages appear clean and mostly still attached. A novel of a recent émigré Russian professor at a Midwest college. Written with a sense of humor and a touch of chaos, as the professor seems unable to conquer the language or the politics of a small American college. Originally published in 1957, this version is dated as 1969, but is a bit more recent than that inasmuch as it is from the eighth printing and has an ISBN.
