Contains 249 printed pages of text with nine monochrome illustrations throughout. In fine condition, the slip case is in good condition although there is wear to head and heel and some roughness to top edge. $21.50
Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus, usually known as Pliny the Younger, wrote to his friends for 12 years and selected 247 of these for publication. They describe the eruption of Vesuvius, Clitumnus, Lake Vadimon, and his country homes at Laurentum and Tifernum, Domitian's death etc. Translated & introduced by Betty Radice.
