Boston: Nimrod Press, 1970. 8vo sized teal clothbound hardcover with silver titles on cover and spine. Embossed church decoration on front cover. 179 bright, white pages. There is a list of pastors, a selected bibliography and an index. There are black and white illustrations including frontispiece and title page as well as black and white photographs. Preface by Rev. Frederick M. Meek, D.D. (then) Minister, Old South Church in Boston. Contents include: The Church is Gathered Who Were These 28 Men? The Cedar Meetinghouse Is Built "In Two Sevens of Years THat Breach Was Healed" Church of England Worship is Established "The Woeful Decade" A Golden Age Begins A New Meetinghouse Is Built "We Had a Week of Sabbaths" Mass Meetings in the Old South When Boston Gates Were Shut Controversy Prevails The Old South Moves to Back Bay George Angier Gordon The Modern World Comes In Winslow was a historian and professor (at Wellesley College and Radcliffe College among others) who authored several historical biographies. She won the 1941 Pulitzer Prize for Jonathan Edwards. Book is very firmly bound, an appears unread. Spine may be slightly tanned and titles on spine are lightly rubbed.
