About This Item
London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme, 1807. [Shakespeare] COMPLETE LEATHER-BOUND SET. Twelve volumes. Octavo (24 x 16 x 44cm). With an engraved portrait frontispiece of the Bard to volume I, and an engraved headpiece for each play by various artists. Contemporary green half morocco, with gilt titles and decoration to spines, and marbled paper over boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. Lovely crisp volumes showing light to moderate occasional spotting, and some offsetting from engravings. Moderate general wear to bindings; spines a little toned, with rubbing and bumping to edges and corners. Very good. An attractive early nineteenth-century set printed on good paper with large, legible print.
