Columbia University Press, New York, 1983. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. XII, 226pp., last 3 blank, preface by author, bibliography and index. Black-and-white illustrated title page, an illustration by a young child. The text is illustrated with numerous examples of children's drawings from various countries and tables. White coloured boards with red and blue writing on the spine. Minor bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the rear book corners. A little shelfwear to the lower book edges and dust marks to the top paper edge. Illustrated dustwrapper, being a coloured reproduction of a child drawing against a white background with purple, blue and black writing on the front panel and purple and blue on the spine. The white background of the dustwrapper is rubbed, faded and quite dull. Rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and there is crinkling to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. An empirical study on children drawing and the development of a child's artistic skill in six diverse countries/cultures -- Bali, Ponape, Taiwan, Japan, United States and France.
