London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1901. Reprint . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 1901 FIFTH EDITION. Original maroon buckram, gilt lettering spine & cover border. The book is in nice condition with clean covers, bright gilt, clean pages, no foxing, old owner signature dated 1903 on preliminary publisher's logo page otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding.. The book measures 193mm tall x 125mm, and has 339 pages + 32 pages of book ads, 3 full page engravings + 1 small one. Same illustrated plates and title page as original 1871 edition (except "New Impression" added to title page). This revised edition contains 3 new chapters not found in the 1871 first printing: Col des Hirondelles, sunset on Mont Blanc, the Alps in winter (but lacks three chapters found in the 1871 first printing). PHOTOS ARE OF ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
