A friend of the author describes the text, reading in part: "dialect stories of pathos and humor, of Negro plantation days, of the Old South, in cotton fields, and sweet-potato patches, sugar-cane rows and 'goober'-gardens are from the pen of Julia McLemore Dimick, whose life was lived in 'The Big House on the Hill'."; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 65 pages .
