About This Item

Irvington-on-Hudson, NY: The Foundation for Economic Education, Inc, 1947. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Plus. 8vo, dark green with black lettering to front board and spine. 9.25 in. x 6 in., pp. 90. Rubbing, (or past biopredation?) to most edges of board,s which has been a little spruced up by our conservator. Clean interior. Solidly bound copy of this classic, a widely acknowledged as well as informative and to some, inspirational philosophical underpinning for conservatism, both fiscal and general. Ludwig Heinrich Edler von Mises (1881 - 1973) was an Austrian-American Austrian School economist, historian, logician, and sociologist. Mises wrote and lectured extensively on the societal contributions of classical liberalism and the power of consumers. He is best known for his work on praxeology studies comparing communism and capitalism. In Planned Chaos, he argues that an economic system based on individual freedom is incompatible with socialism.
