NORRIS, Frank. The Pit A Story of Chicago. Original boards with printed paper spine label. New York: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1903. First edition, first printing, binding A. BAL 15038. Special presentation edition, presented by the publishers to Mr. H. C. Brown. With the bookplates of George H. Sargent and Barton W. Currie. Sargent was the literary editor of the Boston Transcript, bibliographer of A. Edward Newton, and a friend of many authors of his time. Barton Currie was editor of the Ladies' Home Journal and a famous book collector and author of books on books. Small nick to head of spine, label slightly toned, else a very good or better copy in a custom cloth slipcase.
