Atlanta: Byrd Printing, 1902. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Octavo. [1], 400 pages. Frontispiece photograph of James Etheldred Williams. Illustrated. Green cloth hardcover with black stamped title and designs on front cover. Gilt title on spine. Front hinge slightly cracked. Light spotting and shelf wear to the cloth binding. Frontispiece and title page toned. Old pencil note written on page 398. Some light edge chips to a few pages.

Inscribed by the former Mayor of Atlanta, W. L. Calhoun, to Atlanta author Mrs. Lollie Belle Wylie. Note: This inscription may have been tipped in. Paper is slightly smaller on the right edge. W. L. Calhoun, born in Decatur Georgia, was the President of the Atlanta Pioneer Citizens Society. He was the son on Atlanta Mayor James Calhoun who surrendered Atlanta to Sherman and the Union forces in 1864. W. L. Calhoun was Captain of Company K of the 42nd Georgia Infantry. He surrendered at Vicksburg in 1863, fought in the Atlanta Campaign, and was wounded at the Battle of Resaca. W. L. Calhoun was elected Mayor of Atlanta in 1879.
