An undated reprint edition of the author's famous children's story, which has been reworked into many variations including a popular Disney movie. With 17 black and white illustrations throughout by an uncredited illustrator (whose name appears to be "L. Beaujon"). An entry in publisher's Junior Library, The World's Popular Classics series, Art-Type Edition. --- In green cloth-covered boards with image of reading children on cover in dark red, more images in dark red on spine and gilt-stamped titling on dark red spine blocks. Volume is undated, possibly published c.1940s-1960s; lacks a dust jacket. --- Partial splits near both covers have been carefully reinforced prior to this listing; w/lightly soiled covers, prior owner's penciled name to front paste-down, a few small tears to leaves, and mildly rounded cover corners, otherwise a firm, clean copy.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); 252 pages .
