Tor, New York, 1984. First Paperback Edition. Softcover. Good Condition. Illustrator: Michael Foreman. The text is illustrated with black-and-white drawings by Michael Foreman. Colour illustrated card cover with gold coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Set in 13th century France, where a wealthy farmer has been given the task to hunt, by his Lord, to exterminate the fierce animals in the abutting forest. But, unbeknownst to the farmer he has a spy in his midst – the pig Plantagenet, who, "... has come to prefer their beastliness (the forest animals) to the beastliness of men." -- from the half title page. Creasing to the book corners with two large creases to the corners of the rear panel. Rubbing of the book panels with sunning to the verso of the front and rear covers. A punch hole is present to the top right hand corner of the front panel along with a crease that runs the full length of the front panel. Browning of the textblock edges and pages.
