This publication is sandwiched between the publication of her first novel in 2000, White Teeth, for which she won the Guardian First Book Award, the Whitbread First Novel Award, and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction, and 2002s The Autograph Man. The following year, 2003, she was named as a Granta best young author. Stories included by James Flint, Daren King, Toby Litt, Rebecca Ray, and Matt Thorne.
