About This Item

Paris, France: Galerie Louise Leiris, 1960. First Edition. Softcover. Near Fine. Oblong 16mo 6" - 7" tall. Pablo Picasso. Scarce in the trade, there being currently few additional copies available on-line. A sturdy, still tightly bound softcover copy of an artist exhibit catalog from a major player in French and European art-work display and sale. Minor wear of colorful covers, in gate-fold, even less to text-block, with neither underlining nor highlighting. A perfectly readable, usable copy, nice-looking, structurally sound. A fine and due homage from the Louise Leiris Gallery to the life and work of the Spanish polymath and multimedia artist (painter, engraver, sculptor, drawer, illustrator), whose work's importance and incluence is felt still. Louise Leiris largely displaced Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler on the Paris, France art scene in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Square softcover format, measuring 6 1/2" tall by 6 3/4" wide, respectively. "Ce catalogue (no 11 - Serie A) a ete acheve d'imprimer sur les preses de Draeger le 14 juin, 1960." 45 illustrations in black-and-white and color. Unpaginated, but roughly 40 pp., and comprising the entirety of a fine prospective show in Paris, France. Exposition 15 juin au 13 juillet 1960.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
