Kingston, Pennsylvania, 1940-1942. Hardcover. Black pebble-grained cloth over hard board wraps with metal snap-ring binder. Very good. A charming look at the sport of swimming in the mid-twentieth century at Wyoming Seminary, a Methodist, college-preparatory boarding school in northeastern Pennsylvania. This book of records was carefully constructed by the coach, Guy Meiss with three original group photographs documenting the boy's swim teams (1940-1942), manuscript entries of times and records, and newspaper clippings. The meet results and overall school records of the team are recorded in detailed hand-entries. Also included, two letters from 1974 regarding the Wyoming Hall of Fame. This binder was most likely sent to someone involved in putting together the Hall of Fame entries and may have been forgotten. 53 ruled paper leaves with manuscript entries to rectos only, and 13 card leaves with newspaper clippings mounted to rectos and versos. Years divided by blank leaves with tiny manuscript tabs at right margins.
