About This Item
New York: The Modern Library, n.y.. Hardcover. Edited by Carl J. Friedrich. 12mo. Burgundy cloth with gilt spine lettering. l, 476pp, (2pp ads). Grey decorative endpapers. Very good. Would rate higher, as it's tight and bright and internally fine, but for rear pastedown rectangular discoloration (likely from long-ago bookplate). Tight, attractive later printing (undated, but binding suggests mid-1950s) of #266, first published 1949. Interesting front pastedown bookplate of the Department of Agriculture's "Pinchot Institute for Conservation Studies."
