About This Item

Boards rubbed, corners exposed, lightly foxed throughout. 1869 Hard Cover. xlvii, [1], 620 pp. A French translation of Mill's critique of Sir William Hamilton, in which Mill characterizes matter as the permanent possibility of sensation.
