A series of three lectures delivered at Edinburgh and Glasgow in January 1848, the work tackles postivism, individualism and the philosophy of tradition. Contains the bookbinders' label of W. P. Kennedy of Edinburgh to pastedown. Condition: In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there is some minor rubbing and discoloration to the extremities and backstrip, as well as some minor shelfwear. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are generally bright and clean throughout, though there is some creasing and light handling marks. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED..
