[New Haven, CT?]: [n.p.], [1893]. First edition. Wraps. Very Good. 5 1/4 x 7 5/8 inches. 34 pages. Pages bright and clean and free of marking, soiling and staining. Bound in original light gray wraps. Front cover slightly chipped and with library label. Rear cover chipped at edges and with a closed tear. In addition to serving as Bishop of Massachusetts, Brooks authored the lyrics to "O Little Town of Bethlehem," was an influential abolitionist and was a proponent of the Liturgical Movement, the influence of which may be seen in Trinity Church, Philadelphia, which was constructed while he was rector. He is commemorated on January 23 on the Episcopal Kalendar.
