About This Item
Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Co, 1931. Decorative Cloth. Collectible; Very Good/Very Good. The 1931 1st trade edition, complete in its 2 volumes. Both volumes include their uncommon dustjackets and the set is housed in the publisher's original printed slipcase. Both volumes solid and VG (with light spotting to the panels and light offsetting at the endsheets) in bright, VG- examples of the beige dustjackets, with pronounced chipping at the spine ends (somewhat affecting the lettering) and very light soiling to the panels. Thick quartos, 566 pgs. all told, including dozens of lavish full-page illustrations ( a number of them in color). The Doubleday slipcase shows some wear along the edges and is missing the top panel but nonetheless is sturdy and quite presentable.
