About This Item
Halifax: The Imperial Publishing Company (c.1941) Stapled illustrated card covers by Bertha E. Hart. The volume of verse takes its title from the initial poem 'Phantom Pirate', which has been suggested by the legend that Captain Kidd's treasure was buried on Oak Island in the County of Lunenburg and by the fruitless efforts by over-sanguine venturers to discover it. Readers of this volume will readily perceive that Mrs. MacIntosh has a keen eye for the manifold beauties of external nature and a fine appreciation of musical effect together with great love of her native land, and an ardent patriotism. This book of verse will be welcomed by readers who have read and enjoyed her book 'Attune With Spring in Acadie', published in 1931. Well illustrated front cover. No ownership markings. Covers show darkening to extreme edges. This booklet is sound.....the staples free of any rust.. Soft Cover. Very Good.
