Londion: Archibald Constable, 1822. Half-Leather.First impression in four volumes, published anonymously. Bound in mid-nineteenth century half-calf over marbled paper covered boards, with leather spine labels. Spines tooled in gilt. Each volume contains the bookplate of Sir Thomas Francis Fremantle, Baronet. [Pages 15/16 transposed in vol. III, half-titles present in vol. II & II I] Made a baronet in 1820, it was not until 1827 that Scott avowed the authorship of his earlier novels. A very good set, in handsome contemporary bindings.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
