Bound volume with the year’s monthly issues, including numerous engravings, hand-colored “fashion” plates, as well as poetry, music, other illustrations, fiction and non-fiction. Bound in contemporary red half-morocco; raised bands; spine gilt decorated; the name “Marietta” is stamped on the front board, surrounded by a gilt floral pattern; bound with the 1858 illustrated title page and the contents for each volume. A small photograph of an unidentified uniformed officer is pasted inside the front cover. Foxing; some page staining; a very good copy.
