New York: W. Robinson, 1844 Original Cloth. Good-/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Blindstamped brown cloth, gilt spine lettering. Volume II of Family and School Library containing two separate sections (gazetteer and dictionary). Reprint; original copyright 1840. Dictionary section contains [few] illustrations of "Arts, Manners, Customs, Birds, Beasts, Fishes, Reptiles, Insects, and other things mentioned in the Bible." Woodcuts throughout. Ex-Universalist Sunday school library with bookplate affixed to front endpaper and notation to inside front cover. Insect damage (small holes) to 1/2" lower rear spine gutter, upper rear spine gutter; moderate wear/bumping to cover extremities; light soil to cover. rear endpapers and margins of final few pages brownstained; intermittent foxing and occasional creasing throughout interior. Otherwise clean and intact.
