About This Item

New York, New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1938. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Rackham, Arthur. Orig. published by Scribner's in 1902, this is a 1938 printing, identical to that First Edition, retaining the small pen-and-ink drawings & full-page, full-color plates by Arthur Rackham; unfortunately, only 12 of the original 16 are present, but they are lovely: no foxing or edgewear. 126 pages. With light green cloth-covered boards & a decorative paper pastedown to front, this hardcover book is in Good- condition, downgraded primarily due to staining to exterior, complete loss of gilt to lettering on front & spine. Moderate rubbing to extremities, heaviest at all corners. Binding has been reglued, hinges intact, half-title page completely loose. Interior is clean, with modest tanning around edges. Child's crayon scribbling on last page & rear free endpaper, else unmarked. No DJ, as issued (never came with one). Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
