Description:
New York: Samuel French, 1935. Softcover. Near Fine. Early or possibly first acting edition. Green paper wrappers. Pencil notes throughout, price overstamped on front wrap, some smudges on the wrappers, a very good copy. Basis for the 1936 film *Go West Young Man* directed by Henry Hathaway, and featuring Mae West and Randolph Scott. The notes in this copy are in an unknown hand, but the book came from the library of actress Marian Seldes and her husband Garson Kanin. Seldes made her first stage appearance as a school girl at the Dalton School in 1935, and this could have been used in a school production at some time reasonably contemporary to publication.
