Slim 4to. San Francisco: Book Club of California, 1929. Slim 4to, [6], 29pp. Title illustration, chapter head piece. Red cloth, gilt-lettered spine, slipcase (broken), backstrip faded. § Limited to 325 copies signed by Bynner. Printed by the Brothers Johnson at the Windsor Press with handset type on Arches hand-made paper. The latter part of this essay appeared as the author's introduction to "The Jade Mountain", an anthology of 300 poems of the Tang dynasty, translated from the Chinese by Bynner and Kiang Kang-hu.
