Madrid: La Imprenta de Yenes, 1840. First edition. Contemporary full polished calf with gilt decorated borders, all edges marbled, Stormont pattern marbled endpapers, sewn-in silk bookmark. Boards heavily rubbed, removing most of polished surface, but gilt borders mostly intact, contents very good with very minor foxing on a few leaves.. Half title, 117, [1] pp. Illus. with 1 engraved plate and small engraving to title page. 12mo. Errata page at end. Examination of the landscape observations and geographical expertise of Cervantes. Fermín Caballero y Morgáez (1800-1876) was a Spanish geographer and writer. Scarce. Neither Rarebook Hub nor ABPC find it at auction after 1912 at the Anderson Galleries sale. Palau 38396.
