Once the prized favorite of medieval falconers, the peregrine wild population was catastrophically declining by the early 1960s. The collapse also hit eagles and other raptors, probably caused by DDT. No previous owner marks. Text, photographs, maps, and charts all clean. Contains 32 pages of B&W photographs.
