About This Item
London : Vizetelly and Co, c1884. Cloth. Good. 10.5" by 7.5". None. A attractive edition of Eustace Clare Grenville-Murray's People I Have Met. With fifty-four engravings throughout, including plates, the volume paints a vivid picture of the journalist's life in Victorian London, with humourous anecdotes from both his career and social life. In decorative cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there is some wear to the boards, extremities and slight damage to the bottom edge of the backstrip, as well as some markings to boards. Internally, the binding is strained in various areas, although the pages remain firm, and the pages are bright and clean throughout, aside from some spotting to endpages Good
