New York: G. W. Dillingham Co., 1904 2022-10-16. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. W. W. Denslow. Signed by Illustrator. Inscribed/signed on FFEP by Paul West, dated 1904. Original pictorial cloth, color illustrations and plates, Overall wear, some scribbles one name in pencil etc., binding shook with front hinge detached, rear hinge cracked, stained/chipped boards with some tearing at head/tail of spine, faded spine, pages are overall bright with light scattered foxing, lacking rear free end page. No jacket. ; Well packaged in a box, ships with tracking.Paul West was an American author, playwright and songwriter. He collaborated with W.W.Denslow to created the illustrated book The Pearl and the Pumpkin (1904) which was turnedinto a musical the following year. In 1918 he sailed to France as a Red Cross worker in World War I where he later died as a result of injuries sustained in a gas attack.
