"Off To The Land Of Mystery," exciting juvenile adventure novel by Pierre Mael, collective pseudonym for Charles Causse and Charles Vincent, prolific late 19th century French authors who together wrote over 90 popular stories of romance and adventure for boys and girls. Fifty-eight magnificent illustration plates by Alfred Paris, eight of them in full color. Ornately bound in red cloth with elaborate floral designs in black and gold. All page edges gilt. Very Good, binding tight, sound, and square, corners sharp, text clean, crisp and bright. Brief inscription in a neat hand on half-title page dated Jan. 1, 1906. Spine lightly sunned. Page-edge gilding brilliant. Text in French. A wonderful book.
