About This Item

Paris: Marcel Lubineau, Editeur, 1946. One of 990 copies on velin de lana, illustrated with original woodengravings designed by Sylvain Sauvage and engraved on wood by Pierre Bouchet with the collaboration of Gilbert Poilliot. The color woodengravings comprise the handsome black and gold wrapper vignette, the titlepage device, 35 largish headpieces, many of them erotic and 31 tiny tailpieces, mostly floral. Page size: 7-3/8 x 4-3/8 inches; 162pp; + colophon. Bound: 3/4 black jansenist-style morocco, author and title gilt-stamped on smooth spine, teg, marbled endpapers, original wrappers bound in, slight bit of scuffing to binding, tiny bit of offsetting to plates, else very good. The text is the amorous verse of Tsing Pann Yang (1855-1885).
