About This Item

This is the story of Dick Schaefer who joined the Navy on impulse, hoping that he would have some control over his future. He was not fully aware of the increasing military action in Vietnam. His account of his time at boot camp is wry and rollicking. He received orders to report to the US Naval Hospital Corps School, which suited him. He requested assignment to Hawaii, but there was no naval hospital so he was assigned to the Fleet Marine Force for three years.

Book - Near Fine condition. I did note though that the bottom corners have been bumped a tiny bit, otherwise no edge/corner wear. There are at least 5 pages that have corner creases that have been straightened out. Pages are clean and tight. This book looks like it has never been read. There are some black & white illustrations.

Dust Jacket - Fine condiiton. No edge or corner wear. Please use photos as part of the description.

163 pages including Index.
