About This Item

Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1922. Hardcover. Very Good. Signed by Author(s). Signed by author (name only) to front endpaper. Flexible red leather covers with gilt lettering to spine, gilt initials to front cover, top edge gilt, title page ruled in red & black with red central device, 7-1/4" tall, 190 pp. Minor slant, light wear to edges of covers and tips. One of the most beloved of all bookish novels, it is as fun to read today as when it was written. A lovely leather-bound edition, uncommon signed.

Synopsis

Although my name appears on the title page, the real author of this book is Miss Helen McGill (now Mrs. Roger Mifflin), who told me the story with her own inimitable vivacity. And on her behalf I want to send to you these few words of acknowledgment.
