VG-, lighter areas along spine edge & bottom edge. Based mainly on pieces in American collections, this work gives a commentary on the styles and techniques of the 17th and 18th century furniture makers, a list of the masters from Boulle to Jacob, and a useful pictorial review of pieces arranged in chronological order. An appendix lists some architects, sculptors, painters etc. who influenced French furniture design from the latter part of the 17th C. to the beginning of the 19th C.. Limited. Hard Cover.
