Early edition of Paris and Environs With Routes from London to Paris, a Handbook for Travellers by Karl Baedeker. The fifteenth edition, revised. With thirteen maps and thirty eight plans in colour and monochrome, many of which are folding.Includes a forty two page index including a general plan of Paris, a large plan of Paris in three sections, and five special plans of the most important quarters of the city. Collated, complete. Karl Baedeker was a German publisher whose company set the standard for tourist guidebooks in the nineteenth century. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The joints are cracked to the tail of the spine resulting in some slight loss to the cloth. The spine is slightly faded. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot and light age toning. Very Good
