About This Item

Written by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre based on their in-depth research conducted over three years and based on documents, transcripts, cables, and other first-hand accounts and evidence, including interviews of participants and witnesses, Is Paris Burning? is a fascinating account of a key event in the Second World War, the liberation of Paris. The title, Is Paris Burning?, comes from a question asked by Hitler on August 25, 1944, as he wished the city to be destroyed rather than reclaimed by the Allies. Despite this, Paris was liberated, and Is Paris Burning? provides a detailed of account of the taking of Paris, the resistance's fight against the occupying forces, and its ultimate liberation at the end of August, 1944.

This volume is a book club edition and is good condition with a dust jacket in fair condition. There is a small stain on the cover of the book. The dust jacket has wear around the edges and corners and tearing on the back at the top. There is also some mild staining on the back of the dust jacket and on the inside of the dust jacket.
