The author's search for scattered poetic graffiti written on stones between 1912 and 1959 and signed "Berger Albert," and for information on Albert himself, a shepherd in the Alps of Haute-Provence who died in 1963. Fourth edition, with new material. Spine slightly cocked and lightly bumped at crown, light wear to corners of boards. Issued without dust jacket.
