A rare copy of this work. The Parasite is an 1894 novelette by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Parasite makes use of a form of mind control similar to the mesmerism of the Victorian era. It centres around the main characters, Austin Gilroy, who studies physiology and is familiar with the occult, and Miss Penclosa, who possesses psychic powers. The author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was a British writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction, and have been adapted to several films. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, a trifle worn owing to the delicate binding. A few marks to the paper wraps and some shelf wear. Significant loss to the wrap along the spine.
